is off to fufill his dream of becoming the newest addition to the NBA,
Clark -well I don't know what happened to him, his room was just empty
on October 1 and I haven't seen him since, but I swear I saw him in a
news clip in Pakistan, but who knows. And me? Well I'm moving down the
street, but I just realized that I had moved expired beans to this
house, but now they will finally see the trash. So yeah that's it.

sophistication I decided to subscribe to The New Yorker. Four months
and a handful of issues later I've read 1/3rd of one article on
Siberia. I don't even have the time to laugh at the cartoons I don't
understand. Maybe I should invest in a dilbert calendar instead?

R.I.P. Mono-Cup

Today I came home to find Connor in the kitchen vigorously scrubbing his lucky white mono-cup. I am pretty sure this cup almost killed him a few months ago. That or almost turned him into a mutant. In any case, a bit later I noticed he has given up and thrown the cup in our infamous recycle bin. I look inside and realize he had been trying to scrub the mold out of the cup which had slowly started takeover the inside of the cup. The real question is, how long had he been drinking out of the cup until he came to the conclusion that there was too much mold? Regardless, Connor seemed like he lost a good friend. I love BBQ sauce. I put it on almost everything I eat. When I returned
from the store I opened the fridge and found that a whole bunch of my
favourite sauce and spilled. Not wanting it to be wasted I quickly

Another Hot One.

Sunday was Bay To Breakers and the temperatures soared again for San Francisco. Clark and I woke up yesterday and left the house for coffee expecting to enjoy the sun for another day. But the fog and wind (basically San Francisco) had returned from its vacation. However, Sunday was the day to be outside. And in between chasing a girl away for trying to exchange a high five for some of my water and watching a guy introduce his face to the pavement there was time to watch the aftermath of Bay to Breakers from our stoop. I was coming home from Modesto when I snapped these pictures while stuck in traffic on Fell st.

Now I understand a lot of costumes people decide to wear on Bay to Breakers, others, not so much. Here it looks like a purple fairy and pink panda are in need of holding each other up. A symbiotic relationship you could only find in San Francisco on Bay to Breakers.

Speaking of costumes one has got to consider Bay to Breakers almost like Halloween, but in May. Both days people get dressed up, wasted, and you could probably find a piece of American Apparel clothing on just about two out of three 20something year olds. Again, here is a costume I don't quite understand. This woman is wearing an inflatable inner tube around her waist, making actually running the event very difficult because her arms are not allowed proper positioning since they are holding up her inner tube. I get that everything is contextual, and that's why it would make sense if she was running west toward the beach, rushing to the water in an attempt to take advantage of one of San Francisco's few hot days where you could comfortably enter the water. But rather she is heading east, past the DMV, with the nearest body of water being the fountain at the civic center.

Finally, amongst all the fun that people were having, there was also the occasional drama. Here we see two girls (there was also a third out of frame) that I overheard arguing. Something about "why did you leave me behind back there?" and the response being something like, "well you just weren't wearing the right type of flannel bottoms like Tracy and I, the white shirt just doesn't do it, and where is your headband?". Another interesting note in this photo is the vomit just off the sidewalk. My guess is that this did not come from one of the lead runners throwing up due to an extreme effort, but rather from one of the many people we saw later passed out in the bushes and in people's driveways. And as my friend Naveen pointed out, it wasn't even 1pm yet.

San Francisco is probably the best city in the entire country. You could eat out at a different restuarant every night of the year (assuming you could afford to do that), you can leave the city super easy and see some other beautiful stuff, and our year round weather is pretty mild. We are accustomed to fog and temperatures in the 50s. However when the temperature gets above 75 people start to go a little crazy. Today was one of those days. Take a woman I saw while getting lunch for example. She was walking on the sidewalk with a sandwich in hand, but then she stepped out of the shade and power of the sun compelled her to walk into the street and rub her sandwich all over this car. She was immediately pulled back into the shade by her friend, returned to the sidewalk and seemed confused that she no longer had her lunch. Tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter, so watch out.

I haven't seen Duane in a few days now, maybe since the night before
someone made the mess in kitchen. But I went into his room this
morning to look for some candy to take to work and something felt
different. I looked over to the windows and noticed this thing (see
photo). It's a uhual blanket nailed to the wall. Um...so I realized
what I felt was darkness, the lack of light that Duane apparently has
been trying to shut out. Duane are you ok? Have you been bitten by one
of the many dogs that shit in our front yard and turned into a wolf-
man? If so please avoid eating the dog treats I've started consuming
for my own performance enhancement. Get well soon.

Yesterday I mentioned our large pile of recycling that needed to be
taken out, by someone other than myself. When I woke up this morning
and went into the kitchen I found this mess. Notice the mop on top.
This is obviously not a recyclable item, but rather a passive
aggressive attempt to say "clean up your shit". I don't know who did
this, Clark, Duane, the baron, or our fourth roommate that works
graveyard that I rented Duane's room to during the day that neither
Duane or Clark know about. Regardless of who it was, I'm still not
going to clean it up. I'll make the best of it and probably start
throwing garbage on the pile, maybe even start composting a bit.

Waiting

This pile has been overflowing for probably over a week. We're all
just waiting for one of us to get so sick of it that someone else
takes it out. The real question is, who can live in filth the longest?
Well I've been sleeping with laundry, computer cords, and school
papers for almost two weeks now with no signs of turning my life
around, so it most likely won't be me cleaning up this mess.

Even though it started raining tonight we've all noticed that summer is on its way. The winters in SF are pretty mild, but that doesn't mean that we don't try to fill up on as much food as possible to keep us warm through the somewhat cold winter months. However, the time has come when we here at 332 have to get serious about looking good for the beach. Not only does that mean cutting back on the cookies and trailmix, but also finding just the right suit. That's why I got excited when I was at Safeway this evening and saw that an alien was going to tell me the best type of swimsuit for my body. Unfortunately I didn't have enough money to buy the magazine, so I started taking a photo of every page until I got kicked out. I didn't make it past all the Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger ads, so if anyone knows the alien on the cover could you have her/him/it ship us a copy? Thanks

This is the first of many posts for 332. A lot has been happening here, but it's time that we start chronicling it all. Clark did his dishes today and I washed a dish with soap that I didn't know was mine, but figured it probably was, but just forgot. Duane most likely has the swine flu, so if you see this walking down the street don't be alarmed. Just feed him some mac and cheese and put a padres hat on him.

We're all in need of going to the grocery store. Please send food.
